Kolbjorn Martens

Also known by his lineage name of Dharma Bodhi Saraswati, Kol is a true lifelong student and practitioner of the physical and spiritual healing arts. Introduced to yoga at the age of seven, Kol embarked on a quest to seek out technologies, modern and ancient, for unlocking the true potential of the human body, energy and mind. This journey would take him across continents and cultures for the next four decades, covering such far flung traditions as classical chiropractic medicine, Chinese internal martial arts and Hawaiian lomi lomi.

During his early twenties, Kol began formal training in Kashmir Shakta-Shiva tantra and kundalini Hatha yoga under the guidance of Mahatantrika Swami Satyananda Saraswati. This traditional acharya apprenticeship would occupy the next 15 years of his life and introduce him to some of the last remaining mountain yogins still practicing according to the old ways. His studies would expand to encompass all aspects of traditional tantric yoga science, including primal ayurveda, puja, vastu and astrology.

Kol has gone on to compliment his thorough mastery of Indian tantra with the study and practice of the Yungdrung Bon tradition of Dzogchen. In 2003, he took formal initiation with His Holiness Lungtok Tenpai Nyima, the 33rd Menri Trizin world leader of the Bon religion, receiving personal instruction in the teachings of Shardza Tashi Gyaltsen Rinpoche, who attained the rainbow light body in 1935. This expansive base of experience has led him to become a vocal proponent of a broadly inclusive, non-sectarian approach to spiritual work guided by the great non-dual traditions of the world.

Most recently, Kol has been hard at work on Trika Method, an internet based wellness platform he launched together with his partner Stephanie Gusman in 2016. He currently resides in Costa Rica together with his family, continuing the timeless tradition of dharma practice and instruction.
